Invicta Honored at the 2025 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

The Invicta marque, created 100 years ago, was featured for the first time at the 2025 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
Early Invictas circled the globe, set myriad distance and pace records, and took home the Dewar trophy—not once but twice. Then, at the 1930 Olympia Motor Show, the marque debuted a model to be envied by all—the 100 mph 4½ Litre S-Type.
Just 77 S-Types were built, and fully 10 of these low, long and quick creations took their place on the competition field on Concours Sunday, posed in a place of honor at the water’s edge. An early 1929 Type A Carlton Tourer was also present. And they all crossed the ramp in a Parade of Elegance to open our Awards ceremony.

Two of these Invictas, built in 1931 and 1932 as Carbodies Tourers and shown by Steve & Marilee Hamilton, were captured permanently on the main poster for the 2025 Concours. The Hamilton’s 1931 Tourer also won the Gran Turismo Trophy and will go on to be incorporated in a future edition of the Gran Turismo video game.

The competition for class awards was fierce. One of our longstanding class judges later remarked that judging these cars was the most difficult judging task he ever had.
The 1933 Invicta 4½ Litre S Type Corsica Drophead Coupé shown by SBH of Riffa, Bahrain placed First in Class and went on to compete for Best of Show—ultimately earning a spot among the final four Best of Show Nominees.

The 1931 Invicta 4½ Litre S Type Weymann Open Coupé shown by Andrew Pisker of the Principality of Monaco placed Second in Class, and the 1934 Invicta 4½ Litre S Type Carbodies Tourer of Ross & Beth Myers of Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, placed Third in Class.
