The AC GT Roadster is a cutting-edge modern sports car, using the latest technology and engineering processes. It’s a clean-sheet design from AC Cars, Britain’s oldest active vehicle manufacturer, yet it remains faithful to the spirit of the AC Cobra of the 1960s.
Intended to be both beautiful and usable, it remains in a class of its own and, designed to be fully road legal, it incorporates modern safety features.
Significantly larger than the original, the car’s cabin accommodates drivers well over six feet tall. The advanced extruded aluminum chassis is extremely light, with exceptional tortional rigidity, and is clothed in a flowing carbon-fiber body. This keeps kerb weight under 1450 kg (3190 lb) with the weight distribution and low center of gravity drastically benefiting handling and agility.
Two formidable V8 engine options deliver the speed and soundtrack: a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 or a supercharged version using the same modular engine. Developing up to 654bhp (663 PS) and 575 lb ft (780 Nm), the supercharged GT Roadster is capable of zero to 60mph in just 3.4 seconds. Two gearboxes are available: a 6-speed manual gearbox or an advanced automatic gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddles.
The AC GT Roadster’s cabin has received as much care and devotion as the rest of the design. Featuring bespoke details and unique hand-finished elements previously unseen in the automotive world, it underlines the commitment of AC Cars to its vehicles going forward.
